My first post ever!

Hey world. It's Jay, and I got to tell you something a bit personal. Something that I've tried to ignore about myself since the day I ate my first bacon-wrapped waffle.

I'm fat.

I know this isn't the best way to start off a blog that's supposed to be beaming with positivity, but that's the truth! According to the scale I am currently 197 pounds, which means I'm obese for my height and age (I should be at the most 159 pounds. Yikes!). As a 5' 7" Asian male with a stocky build and an affinity for pasta, I find it quite hard to lose weight.

But today, no more gaining weight for me! I'm going to use this blog to begin my journey to a healthy weight. I'm not going to try to cut corners with products that don't work, or try the newest fad diets. I'm going to do it the old fashioned way - healthy eating, and exercising.

But there's one thing I can't give up, and that's cooking.

I love cooking. It's the one thing I enjoy other than tapping away at my computer and browsing Youtube. Cooking allows me explore my creativity through a medium that I enjoy. So today I'm going to challenge myself to create low-calorie recipes. Less cheese and more mashed cauliflower, and less beef and more turkey. And I'm going to share all my delicious recipes with you guys.

As for exercising...

Let's be honest - no one likes to exercise. And I don't mean no one enjoys the runner's high you get during and after the exercise, but actually picking yourself up and pushing your body through stressful movements isn't the funnest thing in the world. It's certainly not a way I would start my morning!

But I'm going to change that. Maybe. Hopefully. I'm planning to start off small, with tiny baby steps, until I get into the habit of exercise. Until then, my Wii Fit will keep me company.

That's it for now!

This may be the end of this blog post entry, but I'll be back, and with news! Good news. Fantastic news. Healthy news. :)
